Governors

Our Governing Body is made up of staff, parents and co-opted governors from the local community.

The governors are responsible for the strategic plan and vision for the school. The governors agreed a new Church School mission statement and vision statement in the summer 2026:

Mission statements

•Working together with God’s help we can all achieve great things

Our mission statement is rooted in Biblical text:

"I can do all things because Christ (Jesus) gives me strength." Philippians 4:13

Church School Vision Statement:

‘In our school we want everyone to everyone to succeed and flourish regardless of faith, culture, need or individual characteristic. We are a ‘community of hope’; we want all members to feel supported and cared for and to have the opportunities they need to live a fulfilling life. We want children to leave our school confident, with excellent communication skills and able to think critically, so that they can keep themselves safe and happy in our fast-changing world. We want children to have a good understanding of the world they live in through a broad and balance curriculum, and above all we want our children to have a love of learning’.

We live our mission through our school values of:

  • Courage- We know what is right and wrong and we stand up for it even when it’s the difficult thing to do. We are brave in looking after those who need most help
  • Respect- We treat others with kindness, dignity, understanding and courtesy, we treat them how we want them to treat us.
  • Friendship- We show loyalty, care and kindness towards each other.
  • Quality- Be the best person we can be, strive to do the best we can in our work.

Governors Vision Statement:

In the next four years we will achieve the following to meet the aims of our mission statement:

  • We will ensure the schools have a growing pupil intake to secure sustainability.
  • That pupil attainment at the end of KS2 is in the top 20% of similar schools
  • We will ensure our KS1 phonics results have continued to improve and that all children capable attain the expected standard.
  • We will ensure that all children especially those from vulnerable groups master the foundational knowledge they need to flourish.
  • We will halve the attainment gap between pupil premium children and non pupil premium children.
  • All children will be actively involved in activities that help them live out our school mission and that we foster links between school, church and home.
  • All children will experience a wider range of enrichment activities including Forest School with the aim of meeting their social emotional needs and fostering resilience and a highly positive attitude towards school.
  • The governors continue to explore whether the schools would be better supported through joining a MAT.
